Our user friendly Tax Organizer is easy for you to complete, and takes the guess work out of gathing relevant documents and information required for your tax return preparation, so you don't have to think about it, we already have.
We will coordinate your U.S. tax return preparation with any tax return you are required to file in your foreign country of residence and communicate with your tax professional for that country.
Personal Communication: While most other firms work online and are virtually anonymous, Expatriate American Tax offers our clients the opportunity to communicate with us directly by phone or video conference via Skype. You will have a personal relationship with your tax professional.
European Office: During the Expat Tax Season (May 1 - June 15) & the extended filing (November 1 - December 15), we are available to meet with you personally in our office centrally located in Rome. In addition, we offer scheduled dates in several other European Union Cities (For a current schedule, see our Tax Dates & Info page).
Self-employed Expatriates: In this global economy, many Americans have commenced their own business abroad. We understand the special nuances of running a business in a foreign country. We prepare self-employed tax schedules, and corporation and LLC/Partnership expatriate tax returns. We also offer consulting services on various tax issues related to operating your business.
Same-Sex Couple Tax Matters: While marriage between same-sex individuals is recognized in many European Union countries, the IRS does not allow same-sex couples to file as married for U.S. tax return purposes. We specialize in understanding the tax laws specific to same-sex couples, in maximizing the tax benefits under the current IRS Code.
Tax Treaties: We will analyze the Tax Treaty between the U.S. and the country you reside in to be sure you take advantage of Tax Treaty benefits. In addition to Tax Treaties, we will determine if there is a Social Security Totalization Agreement relevant to the foreign country you reside in.
